Security approach

FileMagic reduces file exposure by separating jobs, keeping processing short-lived, and avoiding user accounts. Server-side tools are designed to handle a file only for the operation requested by the user.

File lifecycle

  1. The file is sent over HTTPS through Cloudflare and our origin.
  2. The job enters a rate-limited queue to protect service availability.
  3. Processing runs in an isolated worker with resource limits suited to the tool.
  4. The result is made available for download for a short period.
  5. Temporary data is cleaned up automatically after download or expiry.

Technical measures

Temporary working storage

Jobs are oriented toward volatile or short-lived working storage with automatic cleanup.

Isolation

Server conversions use isolated workers and process, memory, and CPU-time limits.

Network surface

Converters are designed to reduce the network access needed during processing.

Transport

Traffic is encrypted in transit between the browser, Cloudflare, and the origin.

Limitations

FileMagic is not a substitute for a regulated processing environment or a formal security audit. Do not upload files you are not allowed to process, and review outputs before using them in sensitive workflows.
